The Texas founding 50

The first 50 Texas food trucks pay $14.99/month for the Truck plan, and that price stays the same for as long as you stay subscribed. After that, $19.99/month. Future add-ons may cost extra. 7-day free trial. No contract.

One state license since July 1, 2026

Under Texas House Bill 2844, every food truck in Texas now needs a mobile food vendor license from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) — one license for the whole state, replacing the separate local health licenses trucks used to need in each city or county. It's Type I, II or III depending on what you sell and how you prepare it. It lasts one year and must be renewed every year. Cities and counties can still enforce fire codes, location rules, zoning and other local laws that don't conflict with state law. PassReady helps you keep track — it does not apply for or issue licenses.

What's included

  • DSHS license reminders — your license type (I, II or III) and renewal date
  • Reminders for any local permits your city or county still requires (for example fire safety and location rules)
  • Commissary (central preparation facility) details and latest inspection on record, if you need one
  • Daily checks (start-of-shift, cold holding at 41°F or below, hot holding at 135°F or above, cleaning)
  • Food manager certificate and food handler card tracking
  • Inspection pack in one tap
  • Ask Inspector Ray, PassReady's practice inspector — not a government official (camera + questions about what an inspector looks for; educational guidance only)
  • Weather alerts for your area (heat, storms, flooding, hard freeze)
  • English and Spanish
